Tau Elite Tactics
The Tau Elite section has some very powerful options. Be careful, if you over spend your points on elite you
will not have enough left for troops to support them.
XV8 Crisis Battle Suit Teams
So you have a squad of models that can deep strike, move 6" fire and then leap 6" for cover, 3+ save, a whole
arsenal of anti tank and anti personnel weapons, can fire up to two weapons per turn, and can have up to six
drones to give you extra fire power or a 2+ save? Do you really need tactical advice using these guys? OK here
goes...
General Tau Battle Suit Tactics
You will not be able to have many of these squads due to their points cost. Use their speed to leap around the
table to rebuff attacks and lend extra support to your Fire Squads.
Jet Packs
The XV8 Crisis Battle Suit comes with jet packs fitted. This gives the
Shas'vre Character upgrade
The Shas've can have access to the wargear list. This contain some nice toys to upgrade the squad.
Multi Tracker
A Multi Tracker should be considered as mandatory. This will give Shas've model twice the fire power for only 5
points. Keep in mind that both weapons have to be targeted against the same squad or vehicle. You are fortunate
that most of the weapons are effective against either type of target, but if you know what type of army you will be
fighting then you can optimize your models.
Stealth Team
The second Tau Elite choice in the very useful Stealth Team.
The Stealth Battlesuit
For an infiltrating unit the stealth team has some excellent armour. The Stealth battlesuit provides a 3+
save like a Space Marine and Stealth technology like a Vindicare Assassin.
Infiltrate and Marker Light
The Tau Stealth team can infiltrate. Use this ability to position your team in a strategic place. From here they
can use there marker light to guide heavy artillery to vulnerable targets. Using the markerlight means that the
Stelth commander can not fire his burst cannon. I suggest leaving the marker light targeting to the Path
Finders.
Bonded
The Stealth Team is most effective behind enemy lines. You will find that the 10 point upgrade to have the team
bonded will be well worth the points.
