Wargame Tactics: Play better tactics to win more games

Wargame Tactics

Because better tactics win more games!

Warhammer 40k Necron Tactics

Warhammer 40k Necron WarriorIn this section we will look at the Necron Army and the Necron Army. It is mystery where the Necrons come from. They phase in, and if you kill enough of them, they phase out again! And in between you can kill them and they just get back up again! Annoying or what?

The Necron army is a great army to start with. There are fewer rules and options than for most armies, so you will be up to speed quickly. Also you need fewer models to make a good sized army. This means that they are cheaper to collect, special as the main ones are in plastic!

Necron Special Rules

Necrons have two army wide special rules, 'We'll Be Back' and 'Phase out'.

Necron 'We'll Be Back' Special Rule

With this rule Necrons that should be dead can pop up alive again (well, at least half the time). The trick is proximity. Necrons work better in groups.

Necron HQ Tactics - Necron Lord

The Necron army only has one HQ choice, The Necron Lord. This makes it a 'no brainer' as to if you take on or not :-)

The real decision is whether you take two or not.

Necron Elite Tactics

Pariahs

Immortals

Flayed Ones

Necron Troop Tactics - Necron Warriors

Necrons only have one troop choice, so this is a 'no brainer' either

Necron Fast Attack Tactics

The Necron forces tend to be a bit slow. A couple of faster units will help pin down the enemy heavy support while the troops get closer.

Necron Wraiths

Necron Wraiths are nasty, super fast close combat killers. They move as jet bikes, so they get the boost special rule too.

Necron Destroyers

Necron Scarab Swarms

Necron Heavy Support Tactics

Necron Tomb Spiders

Necron Heavy Destroyers

Necron Monolith

The Monolith is one of the toughest Tanks in the game, and one of the slowest!
