In this box you get 5 plastic Boar Boyz models that can be built either as a command squad or rank and file models. Each model is one Orc Boar Boy with either a spear or close combat weapon. Each boy has a Boar to ride.

Pros

Citadel should be pleased with the build. The spruce are attached to the parts where the join will not show where ever possible, for example the weapons join the spruce at the wrist or at the end of the pole, where clipping and filing will not damage the detail. Other attention to detail can be seen in the hand attachments. Usually the wrists give only a small gluing area these models have been sculpted so they have wrist armour that gives over twice the gluing area, and the banner can be positioned to touch the Standard Bearers foot, giving an extra glue point and greater strength. When built, the Orc Boar boys fit very snugly to the boar mounts. I highly recommend building the Boars first, and they fitting the Boyz to them. Done right, they should almost click in to place.

Cons

The only build problem I can see is that the outstretched nature of the boars means that it will be very difficult to have two ranks of Boar Boys. It can be done by positioning the boars with the rear feet kicking on the rear rank.

These Boar modles are quite different (though better) than the prevoiuse ones. They will look ok on the table together, but you will want to keep them as seperate squads.

Conclusion

The Orc War Boyz Box is going to be a winner. The quality of the models is some of the best work to come from the citadel studios
